OK Newbie question coming in. What I have is some old home videos that I want to pull into the PC for editing. Now I will need to hook up either my VCR or Ananlog Camcorder to the PC. Will a TV capture card work for this, How about the Radeon AIW? I am looking for the Cheapest way to do this. What about a Voodoo 3 3500 TV card? TIA

You need a card with a TV in or video in function.

If you already have a card, then something like an ATi TV Wonder would be a good way to go (they also have the cheaper TV Wonder VE edition, but I'm not sure if it has all the functions you'd need.

If you need a good graphics card with TV functions at a decent price, then you may want to look at the All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500. Finally, if you need an graphics card but won't be playing games on it, look for the All-In-Wonder Rage128Pro.

Well I have a Geforce2 GTS already. I can either trade it and a few bucks for a Radeon AIW (not the 7500 though) or keep the card and pick up a cheap TV Card? Is the Radeon that superior to other input options? Will the Voddoo 3 3500 work at all?

If you have a GeForce2, then just get a TV wonder or a WinTV card. A TV tuner card will be less expensive than a graphics card with TV-in functions

You didn't list your system specs, but I just went from a Wintv-go to an AIW 7500 and I like the AIW better. I haven't tried the video in, but the TV capture is excellent. The card has onboard hardware for capturing in some formats. Are you going to export the finished video back onto vhs or what? How much video? How much hard drive space do you have? I really like the AIW, and the drivers are a lot better than the Hauppage Wintv-go in XP.
