I don't know much about car audio.
I do know that my CD player now is four years old, and gets very hot and skips after an hour or so of playing, regardless of the CD. I also know that radio reception is suck.

All I need to connect my iPod is a receiver with an aux in, right?

What do you guys think of this one?

(edit: I also need to get the aux adapter for $13...cheap bastards: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-3KVfm950mfF/ProdView.asp?s=0&i=023AUXIN1R&cc=01&o=&a=)

Or this one?

To be honest my car speakers are pretty cheap, but I don't really want to replace them. I just want to be able to use my iPod, and since my receiver is due for replacing, I thought I'd combine two goals into one.

all pioneers, several sony's and JVC's come with aux inputs.

or you could always get an amp.

Are you trying to spend as little as possible?

Pioneer DEH-P2500 $139.95

Unfortunately, it requires an adapter. Some of the JVC brand headunits have an aux in on the face.

CPA-9C Car Cassette Adapter

Connects your iPod, portable MD or CD player to your car stereo, through the car's in-dash cassette player

Your Price:
$17.95

I have no cassette. And I don't want an FM transmitter of any sort.
And I need to replace my current head unit anyways. After four years, it doesn't do radio too well, and it gets unusually hot for normal operation.

Oh yeah, I don't care for Blaupunkt. I just never liked the way they looked.

And I wouldn't spend $130 on an Aiwa when I could get a Pioneer instead.

i don't know what model car you have, but my '02 Altima has an AUX-IN in the back of the radio.

i checked the internet for some Altima forums and found this out.

you may want to do a quick search and see if your radio already has a input (maybe for a factory CD changer or something like that)

Is virtualoutlook.net the only place to get the aux cable for the '02-'04 Altimas?
