What do I need to connect multiple monitors using thunderbolt?

I am trying to set up my laptop to connect to all my USB devices. Laptop has 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, and 1x USB 3.1 port where I plug the charger. Right now I have:

1x charger (plugged into USB 3.1 port)
1x KB/Mouse receiver (plugged into Thunderbolt)
1x Monitor (plugged into Thunderbolt using USB-C to DVI)

If I wanted to plug in another monitor where would I plug it in? Do I need to get some kind of docking station and plug both monitors in on the same thunderbolt port or should I plug one monitor into the first thunderbolt port and then the second monitor into the second thunderbolt port via a USB type C dock?

Would something like this work? https://www.newegg.com/p/0J2-01FR-00044?Item=9SIAMM4BWP2078

If I used that I could use thunderbolt port 1 for monitor 1, thunderbolt port 2 could connect to this dock device, and the dock device would use HDMI to Displayport adapter to connect to the monitor and the use one of the dock's open USB ports for the wireless keyboard/mouse receiver?

That dock already turns the DisplayPort output of your Thunderbolt port to HDMI.
Isn't there any hub that just routes the DisplayPort lanes through? Should even be cheaper to manufacture.
Anyway, it should work.
