What do I need to acquire screenshots of video?

Hello - not sure if this belongs in the hardware forum, but I wasn't sure if I needed additional hardware or not, so I'll just ask:

I'm fairly clueless when it comes to A/V on computers. What I want to do is capture some screenshots from a DVD that plays on my DVD-rom drive. I thought I'd start off basic, and try Window's print screen command, and that only pastes total blackness onto a file. So what exactly do I need to do to accomplish this? Is it even possible? Ummmm, the only relevant thing that I can think of that you might need to know is that I have a 9800 pro, use XP pro, and use PowerDVD for playback. Thanks in advance.

On the Power DVD main control panel there is a symbol very similar to the quick reply arrow on this forum that points to a dot. This will capture the frame as a Bitmap image file. You should also be able to just press "C" to capture a frame.
