What do i need for my ps2 and lcd monitor?

I have the Dell 2007WFP monitor and i'm wanting to use it for ps2 gaming. I've been using the regular composite cables that come with the ps2, but i'm reading everywhere that i need component cables to maximize the graphics.

So my question is, since my monitor doesn't have all the HDTV connections and only the composite and S-video connections, what do i need to buy besides the component cables?

Anyone doing this with this monitor or one similar and can help me out?

I'm not sure what you mean by maximizing the graphics. The PS2 has a pretty low resolution to begin with.

If the monitor doesn't have component connections, then there's no point in buying a component cable. I'm pretty sure they make an S-video cable for the PS2 as well. It'll still be better than the composite connection. Someone may have a component to DVI connector. That may work but I don't know how much better that will be.

I been looking for a VGA adapter for the PS2, so I'm somewhat in the same boat. For the few games that do support VGA natively I would like to take advantage of my Dell LCD. Since I'm looking for an inexpensive solution, this has been hard to come by.

There is two way to do this. You can either buy a vga box, I bought one for 20-30 bucks off ebay and it work fine with my Hann-G 19' lcd, although the grahpci can use some work, but that a completely different topic, or you can buy a tv-tuner card such as WinTv 150 mce edition for 60-70 bucks and use Dscale to open a no lag window to play ps2 game on it. I personally believe that a tuner card give me a over all better graphic experience over the Vga box, which I am goign to sell pretty soon.

any recommendations on a particular vga box? i already have component cables so i need a vga.....any advice?

Hard to say, good quality Vga box quite a bit, I bought a geneic oen off beay and it work ok until i got a tunder card.

another question i need help with

i have component cables, but i don't have a vga adapter to hook the cables to play the components with. i was just at Best Buy and saw the Pelican Universal System Selector for $25 that'll let you plug components from several systems. But am i correct in that you can't do this with a monitor unless it has all the component outputs? Is there any other way around that? My monitor has s/video and composite, that wouldn't work with the Selector or am i missing something?
