I've seen several that look interesting?

Achieve 550W Dual Fan P4 Ready PSU w/Gold Finish (Retail Boxed) 36$ svc
dual fan cooling (do you need dual fans?)
protection circuits for inrush current, over current, and over temperature (What is inrush?, over current sounds like spikes in current? and temp, obvious)

ENERMAX EG365P-VE(FM). 350W Power 46$ newegg.
Meet ATX 2.03 & ATX +12V 1.2 Version.
Gold plated connectors
Dual fan design of E type PSU and all with thermal control function.
+5Vsb output current 2.2A output.
Cable tube tied design for neatness.
Noiseless & High MTBF. MTBF? is that like life expectancy?
But the 75$ one has SLeeping mode, any one know what sleeping mode is?

IS that like Stand-By & Logic On/Off Additonal Fan for cooling on the antec?

http://www.maxpoint.com/powersupply/powersupply_365_465ax_ve_fca.htm Notice MTBF is 100k

So why such a price difference? what does enermax have that achieve does not? Name brand.

Different switching designs? Whats a good powersuppy for about 50$ Rather get a 400w.

I was considering neweggs chieftech case, comes with a

Antec has something called true power supply, is that cleaner power? MTBF 50k hours

Any ideas on what to look for in terms of a power supply?
So far the enermex looks better than Antec.

THanks in advance.

Go with a good name brand such as Enermax or Antec. You get what you pay for, and you don't want to be stingy when buying a power supply.

Get a size relative to the amount of stuff you are going to be running with it. A 350 watt Antec would be better than a 400 watt no name power supply ;)
