I believe i have very bad allergies, but im not sure. I have theses bad eposide like every 3-4 months.
Heres the symptoms:

Puffy Red Eyes

Running Nose 24-7

Uncontrollable squeezes. If i sneeze once than i do it about 20 more times in a row.

Eyes swollen shut almost

Eyes Very sensitive to light. They burn badly with any light. (my monitor is dark now because i have the settings low)
Fever

Dizzy when i stand up.

When i wake up from sleeping i have a white flim around my eyes that shut them close at the lashes.

I cant taste any food.

I cant smell anything.

A really hard time breathing.

and since my last 4-5 attacks i now get a sore throat before my full attacks, so i know when im becoming sick and im always right.

When it comes it stays with me for 4-5 days strongly! No medicines help me @ all and it only gets worse 1 day after the other. OTC drugs don't work and even the stuff the doctor has given me fails. I have to wait it out which is 4 days to long and i can't deal with this anymore since i have a job that needs me in daily. Its been happening ever since i was a baby and the doctor said it was allergies.

If there is anyone else out there going through this. Please tell me what has helped you. The only thing that holds me back from work is my eyes swollen shut and there very sensitive to any light plus the dizziness.

I just tried to call into work and told them i was going to be sick tomorrow (i work @ 4am-12pm) and they asked how i knew :/ and to call back tomorrow when im sick for sure. Im thinking about going to the doctor today because i am really sick and i know its not going to go away by 4am. I know im not going to be sick by this thursday b/c thats usually the time period it fades away.

Sounds like some really bad allergies... maybe you're having a reaction to some mold?

If it happens quarterly, perhaps it's related to something that you do on a quarterly basis that causes the reactions.

Yep, but when most people think of allergies they think of something they goes away quick. Or itchy hives from a breakout. My case of allergies is way more than that. Most jobs don't understand when i tell them i have bad allergies... they think its something pretty small.

It might be mold or something. I know its not the weather because is happens whenever.. cold, hot, warm, etc.

I been on many types of medicines and don't do squat.
Heres acouple:
Claritin- when it first came out.
Zyrtec
alavert
Benadryl

I just wasted money before my symptoms got worse yesterday (hoping i can find something to beat this b/c i really need the money from work) and nothing has worked.
I brought some medicine for severe allergies and eye drops and some breathe right nose strips. I feel the same :(

Sounds like a worse version of what I get occasionally, especially the massive sneezing fits. Have you tried pseudoephedrine? That, and to a lesser degree claritin, are lifesavers for me.

pseudoephedrine. Nope, i dont think i ever tried it. Can it be brought OTC?

The link above about the mold allergies really got me thinking. The link listed EVERY freaking things thats wrong with me while im sick with my allergies. It could be my house and whats under the carpet or in the walls.

In most (maybe all?)states it's OTC, yes. I usually have to take two. There's also a version of claritin with time-release pseudoephedrine, good for 24 hours supposedly, but more like 14-18 in my experience.

It's a decongestant, so what it will mainly do is get rid of the stuffiness and drip. I've found myself laying down or in a chair tilting my head back, waiting for that first "pop" in my head (it's often audible) indicating the pseudoephedrine is kicking in. It's like christmas. Some people say it doesn't work for them, though. :(

It might dry out your mouth and/or make you sleep poorly or not at all. Totally worth it, IMO.

That's the stuff. Take it on an empty stomach or the effect is dramatically reduced in my experience.

Good luck!
