What do I do with the motherboard standoffs?

Do I put screws though the holes on the motherboard and into the standoffs? If so, what kind of screws do I use? I have an Antec SLK2650-BQE case and I don't know which screws to use. There are three different ones. There are short philips screws and and long ones and there are philips screws with a long unthreaded partand a large round part around the screw head. Please help me. Which ones do I use? Thank you very much.

I always just use whatever works. Whatever goes through the motherboard and fits securely into the standoffs.

Playing around with different screws, I had to remove and put back in the motherboard several times, since when I tried to unscrew incompatible screws, they took the standoffs with them. Also, some screws were reluctant to go in, so I kind of hit the motherboard quite a few times. Could any of these things have damaged my computer in any way?

Thank you very much.

Tighten the standoff to the PC case before you install the motherboard. The standoff screw should go in by hand. No need to use excessive force. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw. DO NOT overtighten or you may damage the board.

Sounds like you tried to use the wrong type of screws with the standoffs. Were you able to remove all the screws or are some stuck? I ruined an A8N-SLI Deluxe by using the wrong screws. The screws litterally fused with the standoffs and the motherboard was loose because the screws didn't go all the way in. If all the screws have been removed, the only way to see if it works is to set it up.

I usually test the standoffs and screws by hand in my hands, with no motherboard, to make sure I'm using the right sizes together. The grooves should screw together smothly.
