What do I do to fix stablility problems when I'm at stock settings?

im just really confused, dont know where to begin so i guess ill post my specs

winchester 3000+ @stock 1.8
a maxtor 250gb hdd which was giving me errors until i ran chkdsk
1gb crucial ballistix
my psu: 500w 34a@12v, has been stable since i bought it almost 2 years ago, dunno if it is the problem, the readings i get from it look normal, even when running prime95

heh stability problems...
just about all of them.
i get what seems like data loss and random restarts, and i did set it to stock manually, but i'll double check.

no its definatly not overheating, im pretty sure either my psu, cpu, or motherboard are dying, I just dont know which one.

Do you guys know of anything i can do to narrow it down without using windows because I can't even get back into that anymore.

Swapping some parts works well, ram then cpu or PS, but first try setting bios to totally lame.
