What do I do! Im about to jump off a bridge...!

I have been ripping my music, got past 100 cd's and I noticed that all the tracks near the end were skiping. I found out it was my cd drive, so i got a new one and this one skips too around the last tracks. Tryed my firends they dont skip. does any one know of a awesome cd ripping drive this is driving me nuts!

Tryed a gygabit and a sony drive. None cd-rw drives both skip like mad!

Have you tried ripping with Exact Audio Copy? Works great for MP3 and FLAC, and it tells you if there were any ripping errors.

make sure the jump is worth it....

The bridge needs to be high enough that when you impact the water your rate of descent will guarantee that when you impact the water it will be like impacting concrete!!

Um is the cd drive set up to use DMA, if not that could be a problem.

Righ click my computer > Properties > hardware > device manager > under IDE ATAATAPI controllers click every entry and in the advanced setting under transfer mode make sure its set to use dma if applicable.

If it was using the PIO mode that would have severely reduced performance and maybe could of cause skipping, as ecerything had to go through the cpu.

Well, if you have a rope, it's best to tie it to a post. Failing that, get a good friend to stand at the bottom to 'catch' you. You could also write to your local media to attract an audience, perhaps some sponsors.

That's all, i didn't have anything important and/or relevant to say.
