I don't currently have a girlfriend, but i'm obviously looking. Thing is, i find myself too picky. I can more times then none get girls attracted, but i always think "if i went out with her what the hell would we talk about except "how was class"", so i kind of get discouraged.

i'm curious to see, of people here that have g/fs, what you have in common, what you both like, what yer both interested in.

Actually, nothing. She was a biotch, and my main mission was to break her. And here we are, almost 5 yrs later.

Edit: She still is a biotch, but she's mah biotch.

we have the same twisted sense of humor and aren't afraid to say what's on our minds.

We find the same things to be funny, both were music majors, but she likes a lot of things that I hate but i just deal with it.

You are looking at this the wrong way bud. You don't find something in common with them first, unless you need it to start a discussion. IE class..

Then you talk about movies, music, TV

Then you talk about more important, deeper things

Then eventually you know what you have in common and you don't and can proceed from there. It's not an overnight thing, it takes time and effort.

Its usually not hard to get girls talking, its getting them to stop that is hard. So you will hear her life story, just listen.

life is more than class :)

Now that you mention it... we honestly have nothing in common. But what counts is that we get along.

Well back in the day, we were both real silly and we both smoked an abundance of weed. Now after being together for so long, the only thing we really have in common is the house we live in and our 3 kids. After that, we really are 2 diff people. Maybe thats what has kept us together for so long.

i don't think we had anything in common other than senses of humor. and a propensity to gossip.

otherwise, we are pretty different.

We were both into butts, each others.

Now eleven years later we have three children, a dog, a mortgage, a car payment, a couple of credit cards, a few trinkets, and eleven years of happy and sad memories in common.

And everyday I find a new reason for loving her even more than the day before.

With my ex, we really didn't have that much in common as far as hobbies and interests go. It didn't really matter though, we were togther for almost 5 years, and the reason we split up wasn't because of our interests. I'd get back together with her if she wanted to. Common interests aren't as important in a relationship as some people would think. Common values is a different story.

Good question. After almost 8 years together, I don't think we have a thing in common!

We both like drinking/parties, camping, punk music, snuggling up and watching movies/TV. We have lots of chemistry together. Plenty of stuff that differs between us too but I don't mind.

We both have a pe...errr..no.

We both like sports.

We are both intelligent.

We both accept each other the way we are and don't try to change the other person.

We both like the same type of movies

We both like the same types of comedy.

Lots of things like that. We do have differences as well.

we both seemed to have shared a number of experiences throughout our childhood/teenage years, etc despite having only met in the last 3 years.

edit: a lot of these were drug related. that might not seem important but we both had a baptism of fire in drug use at some point. this makes us see things in much of the same light, i feel.

ahh ha, you bring up an essential point. I think my problem is i'm 17 so all the girls my age just wanna f!ck around, and i'm not one to want to devote time to someone who i don't really like. aghhhhhh it's frustrating though, i feel i need to gain more "Experiance" for when i get to university and meet girls more of my type.

you know, the more I think about it, the more I realize my gf and I have almost nothing in common.

shes religious, I'm not
she's very studious (valedictorian), I couldn't care less about school
she's very nervous and stressed, I'm very laid back
she likes oldies, I listen to mostly metal
she has almost no friends and is afraid to talk to people, everybody knows me

and yet I love her!
