it doesnt cause any damage. All your doing is popping bubbles in the synovial fluid between your joints. You're not doing anything to the bones, or tendons or anything. It is harmless, and hell, if it feels good, why stop?

The results revealed no apparent connection between joint cracking and arthritis; however, habitual knuckle poppers did show signs of other types of damage, including soft tissue damage to the joint capsule and a decrease in grip strength.

This is also knows as Arthritis, Trust me.......Long time knuckle cracker here, i can barely make a fist anymore without pain. It DOES cause damage.

If you're young, don't worry about it. By the time you get arthritis, there'll be a cure. Same with cancer, baldness, and erectile disfunction(wait, there already is one for that).
Live your life how you want to live it.

I CAN'T crack my knuckles, what does that mean? That my joints are healthy or something?! Every once in a while one of them will crack, but I'm trying right now and it's darn impossible to make any noise.

I was wondering about this not too long ago when I picked up my guitar after a long time not playing. My knuckle joints seemed stiff and I had noticed a lot of finger speed was gone. At first I accredited it to cracking my knuckles. Turned out I just needed to practice. Point is, one proven way to help prevent the onset of arthritis is exercising those joints. I am a habitual knuckle cracker, and have been since 3rd grade. I'm 25 now. Still no evidence of arthritis in these joints.;)

Anyone who says or thinks that cracking your joints is bad for you is full of horse pucky. There's no evidence whatsoever pointing to a link between cracking and any joint problems.

I crack my back once a week, my ankle every day, and my fingers a couple times a day.. sometimes my hip or elbow or shoulder will crack too (but those are usually from the tendons, not the joints)

I have no problems whatsoever.
