Over here in the UK we love things like Friends, Frsaier etc etc... and I weas just wondering what you think of the UK comedy classics like Fawlty Towers and Blackadder or whatever else you find funny. I've heard that The Office is now very big in the states, and a Hollywood production is underway. I know most of you younger folks won't know what the hell those programs are... but i'm hoping the older people among you may remember and have heard of them...:)

Hilarious. Are You Being Served?, Chef, One Foot In the Grave, and there's some others that I can't remember right off the top of my head. I used to watch all of these.

I haven't seen The Office yet, but I'm a big fan of Blackadder (all of them), Fawlty Towers, and Are You Being Served.

The Office isn't VERY big... it's been critically accepted and has a sort of cult following, but if you ask the average person they wouldn't know what it is.

I enjoy the British comedy more than the American comedy. I think it's because with American comedy the jokes are presented on a silver platter, there's no need to think of the humor. British comedy can be very subtle or ironic, which I like more.

My history teacher last year was a huge fan of British Comedy, so we watched some at different points in the year. Blackadder was pretty good, but The Office was absolutely hilarious.

I'm a big fan of british comedy. I don't actively seek it out anymore, but when it wanders into American comedy I really appreciate it.

The Office is great. The only american comedies I enjoy are Arrested Development and RENO 911. I also enjoy MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) but i'm not too sure how to classify it (American? Japanese?).

It's a Japanese gameshow type thing that's dubbed over in English, but they make up the dialogue :)

exactly. the show is japanese, but it's dubbed in english with a script that is obviously different from the original. must be seen to understand. bottom line is it's funny as hell (to me).
