Hi. My dad wants to buy a new camera and a printer and he wants my advice (which I lack in this case, that is why I came here).
He says he wants a reasonably priced printer that is able to print decent pictures. I thought Canon and HP made good printers for general use, but for photos, I am not sure (once you take into consideration printing documents with text and photos as well). Last time I followed this stuff, i850 and 960 from canon I recall were good. What about CANON PIXMA iP4000 $130?
For cameras, I want something fairly portable, but not too expensive.
I was looking at: Canon S60 5.0megapixel ($260)
I read that canon cameras have cheaper memory than Sony, slightly better detail levels. The problem is, even Canon has SD400/450/550, priced very closely. I can't decide or I simply don't know the difference. S60 has 3.6 optical zoom, but I am not sure if that's a great enough advantage.
I am open to ANY suggestions and have little preference for brands. I think a decent level of detail and vibrant colour (sony?) are very important. My dad is the guy that will point and shoot -- so primarily for family shots, vacations, tourism, no necessary need for a fast camera since won't be taking F1 shots
Thanks.
