Me too :)

I actually wrote one for the University of Illinois because that's where I was planning on going to school..... yeeaaah...

They usually want 3/4 - 1 page talking about yourself unless they specify a topic or length that says otherwise. I made a pretty good essay if I do say so myself but just write about what you think is appropriate. I got accepted so hey, what do ya know? So long as the grammar is correct and you don't make any spelling mistakes, it's pretty hard to mess it up entirely.

[edit] well, upon searching, I am unable to find my essay :( [/edit]

I wrote mine about how music is an integral part of my life, with teaching, performing, etc. Then again, I applied as a music major, so I doubt it would be valid in any other situation.

Counter-Strike and crazy EBay shenanigans, I s#it you not. Of course, that was for my AP Lit class, not for an app. I started a thread about it a couple weeks ago...btw, they don't have to be true at all :D

On how i was voted least likely to grow up as a senior mock award...and how i wanted to prove my peers wrong.

Try writing about something offbeat or unique to just you. Imagine how many captains of football teams are going to be writing about football, or valedicatorians who are going to write about how difficult the academic road has been. Imagine how bored the adcoms get.

I wrote about my days in elementry school for one essay and another on bus rides our debate team would take to other schools and the philosophical discussions we had on this bus. Think of something meaningful to you or something that really had an impact on your life (no death of a pet, grandfather, etc.) and just write.

I didn't have to write an essay. I think I applied at only four schools (due to a family move and being unfamiliar with the new area and schools within a few hours' drive from home) and got into all four. Didn't have to write an essay for any of them.

i wrote about my (multiple) driving tests.

and i had a few others i only half cared about because i either knew for sure i'd get in or my parents made me apply there... one was about singing's impact on my life, tennis, an influential teacher.... and.... one about a book i would write. i seriously wrote a book i would write and didn't relate it to me. i guess stanford didn't like it (punks)
