What did you make in grade five for the Science Fair?

I made a very short range radio transmitter. Amazingly, I didn't win a ribbon or acknowledgement or anything. I'm trying to remember what my other classmates had...better have been fusion reactors or something to have beaten that. 😛

So what did you make for your science fair?

I brought back the Dodo bird from extincition by extracting it's DNA from a mesquito trapped in hardended amber, and then synthesized it by using quail eggs and protovirus rna insertion. Then the FBI confiscated it from me. 🙁

I built a radio receiver. 🙂

I didn't win anything either. But that was back in about 1988 for me at the hight of the environmentalism mania years, recycling was just becoming mainstream, and CFC's were the worst thing ever. I think the projects that won at my school had to do with those topics.

I made a solar eclipse, it was quite good actually. You could look at different angles and you would see the eclipse in different phases... Now I want to make it again... But this time I should try it using JAVA instead of styrofoam balls.

I never had a science fair in 5th grade, nor throughout my years of schooling at 7 different schools.

They had that stuff 50-60 years ago?

Beats me, I'm only 49. I did read somewhere that Hitler was a Speed Freak though so I guess it's been around for a while
I think Hitler was given daily shots of amphetamine, im sure meth was first synthesized sometime around that time though.

Actually, some high school kid made his own fusion reactor, and lost to some chick who did her project on blueberries.

No, I'm not sh!tting you.

I did some crap on dinosaurs I think. I'm pretty sure my dad did everything and I just threw in some grass and signed my name.

I disproved evolution. I watched 2 rocks for a period of 5 days, noting down any signs of life. After 5 times, not a single sign. Conclusion: Evolution is wrong.
