I am looking for some "big birthday" ideas for my dad who is turning 70.

What did you get your dad for his last big birthday?

so sad :(

He was lucky to make it to 70, so, you never know.

Pretty crappy thing to say.

Why is that a crappy thing to say? It is the truth, he knows it and we talk about it.

We did something like that for his 60th. He does not want that again and does not want us to spend that much money.

hmm, does he golf? a pricey club would be nice, maybe a trip to pebble beach-ish once in a lifetime course?

does he appreciate nice clothing, or is he too cheap to buy expensive clothes? (my dad fits the latter) in either case a really nice shirt, or even a suit might apply?

I think a large pile of blow is most fitting for this occasion.

OK, hes older...so maybe just a ball.

He is pretty hard to buy for because he has simple needs and few hobbies/likes.

The easiest thing to buy him is something 49ers, but that feels a little lame for a big birthday.

I may have to fall back on that idea, though.

Come on, you are an attorney. You have a client that owes you a favor for filing a bogus motion to stop a search warrant so he had time to move the coke to his grandma's house.

Time to call the favor in for ol' dad.

Have had them since 1946 (Started with my grandfather).

Because of his health, he may give them up this year or next.

Mine always was into Loius L'Amour books.

I sent him a series of leather bound books from a short series collection.

Volumes 1-4 arrived before he passed due to cancer. He enjoyed reading them
