NCIS Season 4 DVDs
Brothers & Sisters Season 1 DVDs
One copy of, and a subscription to, Maximum PC
Several articles of clothing
Gift cards that I've already re-gifted
$20 cash / $50 check
What I appreciated the most tho, was two movies that my little brother bought for me... one, I already owned, and the other, he bought the wrong type (Full vs Wide). He's the only one that put a sincere effort into finding something that I'd like. That means more than the gifts.
The only thing my sister wanted for Christmas was a Nintendo NES. Yes, the one that was made in the mid-80s. She told several of this about her only request, sometime in mid-November. Her fiancee told me that he'd get her one. I didn't think about it after that... until two nights ago, when he revealed to me that he takes pride in buying gifts for people that are not on their wish list. I asked him about the NES, and he said that she doesn't need one. I ended up posting a want ad on Craigslist. I was thrilled when I got a response... though I paid $100 for what I later found out was a $$30 knock-off (I was desperate, because I wanted her to get *something* she would be pleased with). I didn't have time to make sure that it worked before it had to be wrapped up. She opened the box, was elated to see the "Super Mario Brothers" cartridge, and immediately asked me to connect it to the TV. THE FVCKING THING DOESN'T EVEN WORK RIGHT. You have to mess around with the cartridge to get it to read it, it won't recognize the second controller port at all, and port 1 only works when the controller's cable isn't shorting out. :| It is somewhat playable though, for one person, and if they aren't flailing about. She's glad to have it, and I'm glad that I got it for her. Why? Ali, her fiancee, bought her an ice cream making set... which she was ecstatic to receive, until I pointed out that it requires a Kitchen-Aid mixer to operate (which she doesn't have). Even I was surprised at how angry she got with Ali. He did promise her that he would go buy her a Kitchen-Aid mixer as soon as the stores open in the morning, though. Her other gifts? Clothes that don't fit, and a neck massager that won't work. There were a couple of other things too, but yeah... I'm really glad I bought her that pile-o-shite game console.
