Some money from my grandparents. They know it's my favorite sort of present. No risk of getting me something I don't like, and it works like a universal gift card. None of this gift-card crap from a store - "Here you go, it's just like real cash, only it's not worth as much now because you can ONLY use it at one company's stores!"
They do like to know what I wind up buying with it though. The next question after they've been told what it is is usually, "What does it do?"
I don't remember if there was anything else. My parents kind of expected me to graduate, so I guess it wasn't much of a big deal. I certainly didn't think it to be much of a big deal. Hell, I tried to weasel my way out of going to the graduation ceremony. "Pomp and circumstance" never did it for me.
