while i was in elementary school, my parents bought me a commodore 64 w/a 300 baud modem.

i connected to BBS's and it was cool.

then i discovered Compuserve.

Then i was at 1200 baud, then 2400 baud.

then i had a PC. 28k, then 56k. and that's all she wrote.

What did people do b4 the internet/bbs? how did they pass the time? TV???

I actually went outside and played sports and hung out with my neighbors, now I live in the ghetto so it doesn't matter.

To be honest, you're assuming a lot from ColdFusion718's rig IMO; people who live in the projects here in NYC drive better cars and wear more expensive stuff that I do, doesn't mean the $ is from a legal source! ;)

I was in the local library reading commodore 64 programming manuals and writing programs on notebook paper (a year before I actually had the computer). . ..

Ahh the days of sitting around imagining how neat this array I came up with would be or wondering how my sprite would look when I animated it.

There was a little thing called hanging out with people, interaction, reading books, socializing... go outside.

I did - and realized that it became a pain. I left it for a teaching job (I teach the Microsoft Office Suite at all levels), and I do photo restoration on the side. . .
