He promised to close GITMO and to have us out of Iraq within one year of being elected.

Close, it was 18 months. However, he did neither. He also promised not to sign bills until we have had a chance to read them online for a few days first...then broke that one with the ObamaCare horror. As President, he can wait to sign bills...no one can stop him. As Commander In Chief, he can end wars and close military prisons and no one can stop him.

Also, for the first chuck of his time in office, his party controlled both halves of Congress.

Blaming republicans for Obama breaking his promises is silly.

He was never specific and that is why he gets hammered for that stupid slogan. All the idiots that voted for him were like "oh boy, change!". What they didn't realize is that change can mean for the worse just as much for the better, hence why you should get specifics before wasting your vote.

I have to credit him though. It worked and he didn't lie. He got elected and look at all the change (for the worse, that is).

As title asks, what did Obama mean by change? I can not recall what his defintion was. Of the things that were supposed to be changed, what has changed? What was attempted and failed? What has not been attempted?

I don't live in fantasy like you do. I don't expect the left to start voting for the right as you just claimed. There were plenty of other more qualified choices but the left put the least qualified and most socialist choice first. Its ironic because you are the same people bitching and moaning about the selection process going on for the right now. As if it is going to be any different than the lefts selection process four years ago. Pull your head out of your partisan ass to realize that Obama was not the best choice four years ago.

You really need to look up the definition of Socialism before you keep slinging it around as if it fit everything that was not your way of thinking.

You can disagree with another's political doctrine, but over simplifying it, exaggerating it and type casting it does nothing for our own well being.


Maybe we, as a people, should criticize ALL of our politicians rather than take up their tack like this was some sort of actual battle, and realize that the more we fight amongst ourselves, the easier it is for someone like Newt to point a finger and get us to believe a bunch of crap that has little to do with us as somehow being a direct threat to our way of living and some mythical "American Way" that has not truly surfaced in politics since the World Wars.

Keep fighting and blindly following and we will get a Sarah Palin in the white house. Someone willing to sell out her self to please whoever will back her politically long enough to not need them anymore.
