what did i do wrong? about using frames on website...

i used the frame tag.... everything looks how it should BUT when i click on a link in the left frame which is basically the navigation links... the page opens inside it instead of on the right side where it should... do you guys know what I'm talking about?

If so, what is the problem? where did i go wrong?

what program are you using? in dreamweaver you can specificy which frame in which to open up the link

you have to sepcify a target i believe

this is actually for a class so I'm using pico editor (unix)
