From the screenshots, doesn't look quite the same as the CNN site, which now looks like it was designed for someone who is 95% blind and using a mouthstick to navigate.

Where's the beta of the new BBC site? I read three or four blog entries and never found a link to it.

Wow that's terrible. About half the screen is taken up by the non scroll header so you only get like 1/2 the screen hight of actual viewable area. Bad colours I can deal with but when the actual layout is unusable it's what makes it truly horrible.

Actually in general most websites now days seem to be so horribly designed, what's up with this trend? The click bait type sites on Facebook piss me off the most. SOME actually have some potentially interesting stuff to read but the site is so badly designed I just close it half the time. There's this new trend of actually completely removing the scroll bar or any ability to scroll. WTH? What is even the point of this bull crap? Another trend I see is "articles" that present 1 sentence at a time and you have to keep clicking next to see another sentence. I immediately leave those kinds of sites so they got me to click it because of some click bait title, but if they can't get me to stay then they failed as a web designer.

Oh and the thing that ABSOLUTELY PISSES ME OFF is modals. People who code that shit should be tied up to a flag pole in Nunavut. I'm actually surprised the new CNN site does not have any, or maybe I did not stay long enough to activate it.

Looks like a responsive site and they don't always translate to the perfect desktop experience. If you reduce the width of your browser you will see the hamburger nav show up.

Couldn't care less about their style choices, as they gave up journalistic integrity a loooong time ago. Does seem kind of funny that they are always going for gee-whiz sideshow antics instead of reporting news, and yet they have a horrible website.

It's as if all these idiots listened to the same idiot that came up with this same layout and decide to change all their pages to the same idiotic and chaotic diarrh-rific display of poop for a webpage. Sometimes companies are paying some idiots way too much money to make horrible decisions.

Shit, I'll make equally shitty decisions for half the pay. Sign me up CNN/NBC, et al!

I would say that my visitation, and that of the wife's, has dropped off by 80-90% since the CNN change. Since the MSNBC site we simply stopped going there.

yeah, after seeing ESPN change, it really got me thinking how many other sites have had a drastic change in style recently, and they all seem to be so very similar... its kind of disturbing

looks like they did a minor change today.

the front page main article and picture was made smaller and moved to the right.
all the other articles are now on the left.

I like it better.
looks cleaner
