What device do you use to measure "ambient" room temperature

I've seen the phrase Ambient room temperature here, I have bios and windows stuff to measure board and cpu temp, but what do you use (and where do you get) something that measures the ambient room temperature?

Thanks 🙂

Try a thermometer 😛

Seriously, ambient just means 'surrounding' so it the air temp of the room.

Case temperature is a different monster (with the cover on anyway) and can be measured either through a thermistor on the motherboard designed to do such or through a regular thermometer (hopefully with some sort of display outside the case so you don't have to remove the cover and check really fast to see what the temp is. 😛)

Standard measurement of Ambient CASE temp is measuring air 1 inch away from the CPU fan intake.

You can use an external thermistor, a thermistor cable if your MB supports it, or a radio shack indoor/outdoor thermometer.
