I've seen the phrase Ambient room temperature here, I have bios and windows stuff to measure board and cpu temp, but what do you use (and where do you get) something that measures the ambient room temperature?
Seriously, ambient just means 'surrounding' so it the air temp of the room.
Case temperature is a different monster (with the cover on anyway) and can be measured either through a thermistor on the motherboard designed to do such or through a regular thermometer (hopefully with some sort of display outside the case so you don't have to remove the cover and check really fast to see what the temp is. )
