I want to buy a 1TB -> 3TB HDD to replace for my desktop. Which brand and which model do you guy recommend? I heard of Hitachi a lot but I don't know it's good or bad. Thank you.

Seagate Barracuda 3TB = $120 w/1 year warranty.
WD Red = $190 w/3 year
Seagate Constellation 3TB = $330 w/5 year
WD RE = $380 w/5 year

Big, Warranty, Cheap...pick two!

WD Cavier Black all day long. Some people say the recent drives aren't as good as the older ones, but I'd still take them over any of the competition.

If money is no object, then I'd look at a Red or RE series, but the Black series is a solid consumer drive.

Love my last 2 WD Blacks. My customers who bought western digitals also have not had an issue. Bought a seagate for my server about 2 years ago and have had no problems with it either.

Western Digital Black is the safest bet.
Rather spend $100(for example) every 5 years than $60 every 2 years.
Of course you will get folks "I have hard drive X and haven't had one single problem in the 4 weeks I've owned it!!"
