Whats the best defrag program out there for Win2K and WinXP. I was thinking about getting Diskkeeper or Speeddisk but wasnt sure which was better.

I heard it doesnt work very well. Besides, I want a program with more colors so I can have a better time watching it defrag.;)

Actually, Norton SpeedDisk that comes part of Norton SystemWorks is probably the best out. It's not free, but it does a hell of a job. I haven't done a disk defrag since I installed my OS and did one last night. It was something like 40% defragmented and only took 3hrs to fix as opposed to 4 or 5 that the built-in windows disk defrag would have taken. Plus the SpeedDisk is a little smarter than ol' Windows...

i like O & O defrag, which is freeware. I use that on 2000 because Diskeeper lite does not work in win2k. Diskeeper is very good, though.

BTW, O & O allows you to play with the colors :)

Ummm. why not just use the built in one?

annecdoatal comments about MS defrag "not working well" aren't necessary reliable

That's what I was thinking... oh well, let them spend their money on stuff M$ has already given them.
