What you may not be aware of is that the boy scouts organization has taken a proactive approach to the safety of youths. New rules require that no boy should ever be alone with an adult leader. Minimum of two adults at all times, no activities involving adults should occur outside of the full view of others. At no time are adults allowed where scouts change or shower. There is a course that is mandated to be an adult active in the troop. And it is mandated that if anyone sees an adult disregard these rules they will be excluded from troop activities.Unfortunately, the scouts don't have a great track record when it comes to scout leaders.
And the boys go through a training booklet that they are to go over with their parents on how to recognize and report abusive activity.
