what DDR speed for P4?

I'm a total noob when it comes to DDR speeds and how they jive with the FSB of the mobo. If I'm running a 2.66/533 P4, do I want 2700 or 3200 DDR?

Thanks

go above 266ddr get 3200 if you can afford but 2700 is cool! I myself only have 512 ddr2100 (266) on an amd

Dont know what you have for a mobo. There are memory ratio's on many of them. For a 533 MHz FSB CPU like your 2.66:

Ratio-----DDR speed
1:1-------PC2100
4:5-------PC2700
3:4-------PC3200

Mobo is the Shuttle version of the Intel 865G. Shuttles website doesnt list the memory ratios. Does anyone know what the Intel 865G supports?

865G is a dual channel DDR chipset. You will need 2 sticks of ram. The board may or may not have ratios, but 1:1 is fine for a DC DDR board anyway. I'd get 2 sticks of PC2700, just because it is better quality mem than PC2100 and not much more $$.

I didn't know I needed 2 sticks of DDR for this chipset. Is there anyway to temporarily have the mobo run with only one stick? I'm waiting for my second stick to ship from Crucial.
