This is a Thread to help everyone whose gotten one of these cards. (i.e. 480/470 only)
Please add to this list.
Also, if you have gotten the card to work on a project, what did you do to make it happen?
If you haven't been able to get it to work on a project, please list it.
I've also notice that certain wu work with mw but some don't, please list which ones have and have not worked.
Thank you and I hope this helps others.

Works:
Collatz Conjecture (just connected with no problems..boinc 6.10.43)
DNETC@HOME (just connected with no problems..boinc 6.10.43)
Einstein@home (boinc 6.10.50)
GPUgrid
F@H(beta client.. thanks Duvie @13000ppd.. post #18)

ERRORS:
milkyway@home
seti@home
seti@home beta

Haven't tried:
Lattice
PrimeGrid
AQUA@home

I hope this helps

Don't bother running Folding@home, it's a waste of time; they won't work.

This is a list (i don't know if it's exhaustive or not?) of projects that support NVidia GPUs:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing

I think the only ones you haven't tried are Lattice, PrimeGrid, and AQUA@home, so if you want, you can try those. But if your GPU is already happily working away on GPUgrid, then just leave it, IMO.

please read the title.. this is for the GTX480/470 only... and they do not currently work on GPUgrid.

PrimeGrid(AP26) is currenlty done for to be replace by something else... no more wu to be issued.

Accord to those links, the 470 and 480 SHOULD work with F@H. I know for sure the GT 260 works and below, down to the 8800 GT.

They don't. The clients are in closed beta at the moment.

Oh, sorry. Misread.

Yeah, and I'm working on the something else. 🙂

But I need testers running Linux. If anyone with a GTX4XX has Linux, or wants to install it (I hear it's really easy with Wubi), please go to this thread and let me know how it goes!

My client is kind of similar to Collatz, but without the memory usage. It should work very well. :hmm:

according to the link they should... but that link has been out long before the 480/470 have been available.

I had gotten my GTX480 explicitly to run DC... and now i've run into this... I'll guess i'll be running beta wu on that one machine to help various projects get thier stuff together...

sorry Ken_g6, but the box is win7 D:

I just joined DNET@home and started crunching on an ATI card. I noticed no one has created at Team for us there.
who usually does this?

i noticed the same thing... i don't know who does it... but my 5870 is doing a wu in @ 24mins and getting 5700 ppwu

😱😱 My 4850 only gets 1500 points for a 28 min WU.

FYI, I checked out the forums at MilkyWay and it looks like the fermi cards work on the new 3.0.x app but they choke on the old 0.24 app. Two or three days back, I was seeing a lot of the WUs for the 3.0.x app but I haven't seen any the last couple of days. Hopefully they will move 100% to the new app soon so you folks with the new Nvidia fermi cards can crunch milkyway.

SETI@Home is working with some tweaking - the S@H Forums do have some information on them about how to go about getting this running. Jason Gee and Rasitimer have been working hard to get things going. My three Gtx-480's are pounding along hard and have passed my Dual Xeon x5680 machine (Dual Hex Core) with two GTX-295's.

Major bump!

Because...I now have a Windows client ready for testing in that thread. 🙂

Anyone interested?

Edit: It seems to have some problems. 🙁 I'll post again when it's working better.

I have been folding on the GTX 470 for a week now and I get just shy of 13000ppd in windows 7.

I have only seen two different units I can grab...a 610pt one or a 611pt one....

I am using some beta gpu client...some first go around to take advantage of the fermi architecture. Hopefully that means after some more refinements I may see even an increaseover my current ppd....I am only seeing a hiugh temp of 74c currently as it has been folding for 6 days straight. If I oc'd a bit more I could have a shot at 14k I think....
