What day of the week does your garbage truck come? Mine comes on Monday

Monday. Recycling every other 2 weeks.

Friday. In the city I used to live in it came everyday. I lived downtown. They would take anything away. Anything. Mattresses furniture etc on any day of the week.

I don't have garbage service, so garbage day is when I feel like driving to the transfer station at the county landfill. Usually on Saturdays when I have nothing better going on. Most food scraps that would stink go to the dogs, cats, goats, or chickens, depending on what they are, and I have a big truck and a lot of garbage cans - as long as there's nothing rotting in there, I can go once a month.

Friday, took me a while to get used to this, because when I lived with my parents it was Wednesday. I work shifts now so days of week don't matter to me, and half the time I forget to put it out. We have big bins given by the city so I can go a while before they fill up. In summer I try to avoid leaving a garbage out for longer till next garbage day though because of bears.

Anyone else ever received a nasty letter from HOA for having your trashcans out X hours past trash pickup?

I was floored. They have the gall to complain about my trashcans, while my neighbor's @#$% yard is burned and filled with dirt patches due to his lack of watering.
