Mainly use: Amex Blue (1pt/dollar + bonus points mall (eg: 3pts/dollar bonus @ Newegg)
Citi ThankYou Preferred (ThankYou points: 1pt/$ + points every month for having my bank account with them).

The last one started off as a Citi Dividend card, back when it was 5% gas/groceries/drugs, 1% everything else. When it changed to the 2%/1% rates, I had it switched to a Premier Pass card (1pt/dollar + 1pt for every 3 miles flown), which was useful for when I was going to college in a city that required flying to get home for holidays. Citi recently ended that last card and stuck me with the ThankYou card.

Is there any CC that's similar to yours?

I am not sure if the 2% Schwab/FIA Visa is still open for the public. AFAIK, there is no other 2% cashback across the board as of right now.

Go to Fatwallet Finance section and check it out for more information. Be careful, some of those guys are fanatics/obsessive about money.

I carry the following, and depending on the purchase and promotional extra cashback:

Costco Amex Rewards - 3% gasoline, 3% restaurants, 2% travel, 1% everything

Discover Card - 5% cashback in different categories quarterly

Chase Freedom - 5% cashback in different categories quarterly, 1% cashback + 10 bonus points per purchase and 10% bonus points for being a chase customer ($100 purchase = 100+10+1 = 111 pts, or $1.11)

Amex Platinum.

If you enjoy to travel, there is nothing better because of the huge advantages of transferring your Amex points to airline and hotel programs.

I mainly use the old Chase Rewards Credit card that they don't offer anymore (Before Chase Freedom) 5% Gas 5% Grocery 5% Drugstore 1% Everything Else... ($300 Annual Earning Limit)

Though I just got an Amex Gold Premier Rewards Card $175 Annual Fee but Huge Sign on Bonus (+Other Perks) 3% Air 2% Gas/Grocery 1% Everything else + Bouns 15,000 point if you hit $30,000 in a year Also usually run promotions to transfer your points to most major airlines at a 1.5xpoints

I have been using my Discover card for the cashback for many years now (1% purchases and 5% in categories). I realize it's not the best but I'm too lazy to find a better cashback deal and have gotten used to the gift card redemption that seems to be a great deal (e.g. Staples $25 for $20, etc) that I always took advantage of.

About a month ago Chase converted my card to Freedom, so I've been thinking of taking advantage of it, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Amazon Chase Rewards. We put thousands of dollars on it, so the rewards are excellent.

I just added it up; we charged $20k to that card between June and December.

We also use a Citibank Shell Mastercard, but for fuel only. 5% back on that one. Total rebate since March 2008: $809.

I love our rewards.

I have been using my Discover card for the cashback for many years now (1% purchases and 5% in categories).

Double check your rewards, Discover should only be paying .25% on the first $3000 in spend. Everything after that is 1%.

But their ShopDiscover network is nice, I get 5% back on my fancy jeans and other stuff (like Dell).

$3000 in a month, or some other time period?

(3000*.0025) +(12135*.01) = $126.65.

I went back and did more than a cursory check of the numbers for June through Dec '10 for our Amazon rewards card:

Opened in June 2010
Purchases: $15,135
Points accumulated: 19,393

That's worth $175 in Visa check cards, plus leaves 1875 points left over for the next card purchase.

3 Points: For every $1 spent on Amazon.com
2 Points: For every $1 spent at gas stations, restaurants, drug stores, and office supply stores
1 Point: For every other $1 spent

I haven't seen anything as good since I started looking a couple years ago.

Oh yeah.

Interest paid: $0

Don't want to rain on your parade but if you were using a 2% straight cashback CC as mine, you would gotten at least $300 cashback (15,135*0.02 = $302.7).

Yeah, that's 57% better. Hmmm. May have to look into that.

Amazon card. 3 points for Amazon, and 2 points for restaurants, bars and groceries. My two biggest spending categories.

I am using almost exclusively FIA (formerly of Schwab) Visa CC. I am getting 2% cold hard cash back from everything that I purchase and no limit.

I am paying off my balance before the due date and getting about $200 cash back per month (sometime more and sometime less) from my personal and business usage. I wish that I could pay my rent with this card.

Edit: One reason I do like this card is 2% cash back on ALL categories and I do not have to do a thing. Other cards with gimicks that require you to enroll or register with their "rotating" categories almost monthly.

I found a website for this card, but it seems different than other credit card company sites I've visited.

Do you have a main site where I can go and apply?

We have been wanting to travel more so we picked up some travel rewards cards. Currently we have the Chase Sapphire Preferred that we picked up during their 30,000 points annual fee waived program. Great card to have when we went to Ireland because the Preferred card now waives forgein transaction fees. I also picked up the American Express Gold card during their miles promotion but there are a suprising number of places that we go to that don't take it so it probably won't get much use

I will say the customer service on both cards is superb. I don't think I have ever had to wait to speak to someone and they were actually able to help with my issues right away (Compared to my Citi Mastercard which usually required 1-2 transfers until I got someone that could help me with my particular question)
