I have the original GM card and have quit using it since it's turned to ass. Have about $2,500 in rewards though.

Have an Amex Blue but no more pricematching 🙁

So I'm looking for another card to replace the GM (which is a Mastercard)

Preferably a Visa or Mastercard since I like my Amex (unless there is a killer Amex card out there as far as rewards go)

The best I can come up with is one of the airline mile ones. Just wondering if that's the best thing around. Interest doesn't matter too much as I won't carry a balance.

 
Different companies have different promotions. Discover gives back 1% but only after you buy 2K of stuff. It's tiered before then. Some companies give gift cerificates or gift cards with points. Getting airline miles is nice if you fly a lot. Are you looking for cash back or GC's?

They are all totally useless if you don't pay off your balance each month.
 
Just be careful. Some places give 3%, or even 5% back but then in fine print you only get that back if you are paying interest on the balance. That means you get 5% back of your 18% you are paying. Pay it off every month and you get nothing.

I happen to like Discover - since the 2% cash back at certain stores happens to match the stores I shop at. But Discover isn't accepted everywhere.
 
Cash isn't a big deal. 1% of 15,000 or so (just guessing) is only $150, no biggy

Airline miles may be ok. Depends on how many I have to get to do anything.

It may be that none are really that great 🙁
 
I like my Amazon BankOne Visa. It gives some percentage back in Amazon GCs and gives you more if you purchase something from Amazon.
 
i recently got an AMEX Blue Cash couple months ago. it gives you UP TO 5% cash back. but if you have a balance of at least $1. you get 2% plus whatever percentage...but at least 2%.
 
HEY ROSS toss me a PM about a good visa card I just want decent customer service could care less about the rewards.
