I've seen drugs to that to people. After working at 7-11 for 4 years you start to get to know some of the street people. Some of them lasted longer than others but many had this type of extreme down hill progression. One year they looked like your average joe who just happened to be out of work and on the street. 2 years latter they were talking to themselves and were covered in sores and wounds. Sad to see.
