What cpu would YOU rather have?

Ok, suppose you're building the biggest baddest gaming machine. Now suppose your not going for value or on a budget. If you had to choose between these two cpus which would you get?

He is alright hehe. He was reffering to the Pentium Extreme Edition 840 no?

Yes 🙂

And of course, it appears a few people here take things WAY too seriously.

how about adding in the fx-57. because i mean, if the 4800+ cant hit fx-55 speeds, that would just be sad. and who wouldnt want 2 fx-55's. but, maybe the 4800+ cant hit fx-57 speeds, or fx-57 mildly overclocked. that would be a tough choice.

maybe in a few months, but still, its a concievable thing for someone to want. its not like, "oh i cant wait for the X2 9800+ !!!"

Well of course if the FX57 was up there, no one would vote for the FX55. Also, does anyone know how good the San Diego FX55 OCs? Is it anything as good as the venice cpus?

4800+ > FX57 > FX55

Yeah, i know the FXs will outperform the X2 in games, but not by enough to be a better choice IMO 🙂

No, it appears that you have to be one of (if not the) the dumbest, most thickheaded members i have ever seen on these forums.

Man I was looking for that link I believe FX57 2 weeks . Hay I think its that link that I posted On the Thread about the FX57 and Fx 59 bench marks check it out

4800+

Most games end up being GPU limited and that's the only thing I need the single threaded performance for. I'd rather have the extra core to allow me to do other things while gaming (convert my CD's to MP3's for example).
