What CPU to buy.........???

I´m about to upgrade my system and want to know witch CPU to go with.

AMD Athlon XP2500+ Barton 1833MHz/1.83GHz 128/512Kb 333MHz 0.13 bulk or
AMD Athlon XP2600+ Thoroughbred 2083MHz/2.083GHz 256Kb 333MHz 0.13 bulk

The motherbord, I think I go for a : ASUS A7N8X Deluxe/GD nForce2 5PCI 1AGP8x 3DDR-DIMM ATA133 LAN USB 2.0 6CH-Audio SocketA ATX and the teh memory a : TwinMOS Original 512Mb DDR-DIMM PC3200/DDR400 184pin 400MHz CAS2.5 (AMD OK)
The grafic card should be either a Hercules 3D Prophet 9800PRO or Hercules 3D Prophet 9700PRO
Does anyone have experience of a configuration like this or have any other suggestion??
And can anyone explain the difference between the 2 CPU´s????

the only difference between the two besides the clockspeeds are the amount of L2 cache they have... the barton has 512 and the 2600+ has 256

if i were you, i'd go with the 2500+ barton.. they are fairly cheap now (92 for retail at newegg.com) and have been able to overclock a decent amount...
