What CPU do you use for your primary gaming PC?

And if overclocked, what clockspeed do you run it at?

i5 3570K @ 4.0GHz, heavily undervolted.

I'm more of a casual gamer these days, playing Steam games and older titles that my wife and I enjoy together (e.g. Civ 5). I do very occasionally pick up a AAA title, but for the foreseeable future I don't have a reliable internet connection, which rules out online gaming, and as such, the i5 is far more CPU horsepower than I need.

Do you know your power draw at full throttle at your current settings? Just curious.

Yeah,

At 4.0GHz, -130mv, I idle at ~37.4w, load at ~81.8w Prime95 (at the wall, full-system), giving a difference of 44.4w between idle and AVX load.

In Civ5, I was seeing about 178w at the wall. I haven't played with undervolting my video card.

An i5 2320 at stock is my cpu for gaming and also general use. More than enough for my wimpy HD7770. I play primarily older steam games as well, but manged to finish W3, DAI, and FO4 at low settings. No new games coming out interest me enough upgrade the video card.

Very nice, thanks. I'm going to see what I can do with this FX8320E as far as undervolting goes. Was just curious how your i5 did with less voltage.

X5660 @ 4.2ghz. Not a very big gamer though, mostly use it for work... Will probably be upgrading to Broadwell-E.

My i5 3550 OC'd to 3.9GHz for now, it's the machine I use the most. Used to game heavily on the i7 3770K OC'd to 4.2-4.5GHz until I sold it for moving money.
