Canada is cold....and too polite. The German language hurts my ears.

I'd go with Costa Rica.

OP fails. No matter which country you move to, if you're from the US you'll have to still pay US taxes....inless they have a double tax treaty, then you'd pay the other country's still high tax rate.

The US is the only country in the world that taxes based on citizenship (basically you pay US tax no matter where you live, no matter how long you've lived elsewhere, or where you make your money). Every other country taxes based on residence and source of income.

Basically, you're stuck in the US unless you renounce your citizenship, which is difficult for an American.

Only partially correct. If you reside out of the country for most of the year, as long as you file, you only owe tax on income over $90k.

That, and also as an expat ALL your expenses are deductible. And most likely the host country has a different tax bracket for expats, making it a win-win.

BS I worked in Saudi Arabia for two years and over $80,000 was tax exempt. This was in the 1990s so I'm sure it's higher now but reguardless most people will pay no US taxes if they move abroad. hence the American pension colonies in Costa rica, Philippines, mexico, etc

Everything else we found were clubs--pretty much gay by virtue (German club).

I second Australia. Australia economy is doing very well at the moment and the foreseeable near future. Canada is the runner up option.

Do you know that Australia is doing well because of China?

It's true Canadians are just weird but they have free healthcare tons of oil fresh water and food producing land. Best place to move to if you think that there will be a world collapse. To avoid Canadians you could move outside the big cities or perhaps Albertastan I hear it's just like Texas. :thumbsup:
