What could you do with $5500?

If I had 5500 and had to spend it on something made in the US ... that puts out upgrading any computer equipment, so I guess I'd dump it into my car.

Rebuild the transmission with stronger internals, install a limited slip differential, and then (with the help of some other cash) redo the engine. Probably just replace it for the sake of simplicity. 99-04 mustang sohc block (for the sake of simplicity), forged / balanced internals, the new trickflow sohc heads, hot cams, misc other parts to complete it.

My '97 town car would be a fantastic machine after that. I'd love to have around 400 horsepower to motivate it.

Why? How else are people supposed to start businesses, expand their current business, or buy homes without the banks permitting us credit? I realize that happens sometimes with cash, but that is not common at all. Our economy is a credit based economy.
