What could this be?

I've called Samsung about this problem, and I'm in the process of having them send somebody to look at it, but I'm just curious if anyone here knows why my tv does this.

It's a Samsung plasma PN42A450.

The problem is that bright images/scenes make the left side turn red on a black screen. Recently, it has spread to all the borders, but still nowhere near as bad as the left side.

I finally got a camera that can adjust exposure time and I managed to get a picture of what it looks like. It's not exactly what it looks like, and the screen is a much deeper black than what it is like IRL, but I captured the red.

It has done this since around last October. I bought it in September, but it was an open box. Since October, it has just been getting worse, but since I'm really lazy and don't want to lose my tv, I delayed calling Samsung.

The only way to make the red go away is to leave it on a black screen for 10-15 minutes and it eventually disappears, but as soon as I watch something it comes back.

Also, if there are black bars on a movie, the red doesn't form in the areas where the black bars were.

I hope I will get somebody here soon to look at it, and I hope it is not something that I did to it when moving it, and that it is covered by my warranty.
