What could these bugs be?

These things started showing up around the end of summer. About half an inch to an inch. Maybe a beetle-type thing, spade-shaped, dull tan/light grey-brown, antenna, and they can fly. As far as I can tell, they're relatively harmless (as in, not retaliating when I flick them away), but every day I find more of them around my open windows.

What could they be ? I live in the Mid-Atlantic (VA), if that helps.

I'm looking through the pics over at whatsthatbug.com, but has anyone else seen these things before and know what they are?

I don't have a camera :(. Anyways, the pics of Japanese beetles and june bugs don't really match. The bugs I'm seeing are a dull mottled grey/tan, not shiny at all. Also, the back end is a little pointy, not rounded.

So, ugh, I guess I should stop flicking and pissing off shield/stink bugs :Q...

Looks like the ones I have in my house are the 9th one on this page ("Tree Stink Bug"). I found a couple of them crawling around inside the pouch I keep my PSU cables in :(.
