What could cause this issue??

I have a Progressive Scan DVD player hooked up to my LCD via a cheap HDMI cable. Occasionally the picture is bright orange/florescent.

Could it be the DVD player, the cheap cable, or the HDMI connection on the TV?

Sorry, I don't have multiple cables, tvs, or dvd players available to pinpoint the issue.

Since the TV and DVD player are essentially under warranty ( TV is almost 2 years old but I got it with my AMEX) I guess I could replace both.

edt: this problem does not happen with any other dvd player (connected via component cables) or just watching HDTV.

By "occasionally", do you mean that it only happens on certain DVDs, or certain times you turn it on, or does it randomly happen in the middle of a DVD that's been working fine?
