what could be wrong here..........

My buddy is having a random shutdown problem whenever he games. His whole computer will just shutdown. read this

[11:32] [@MinioN] the game is going perfectly, then suddenly my monitor goes into sleep mode
[11:32] [@MinioN] my computer stays on, so does my modem
[11:32] [@MinioN] and cathode lights
[11:33] [@MinioN] but i hear a click inside simultaneously when the screen goes into sleep mode

here's a copy/paste of his system specs

[11:29] [@MinioN] onboard sound
[11:29] [@MinioN] onboard lan

so basically what happens to him is that his monitor goes into sleep mode, and something inside his case clicks, could this be a bad powersupply or a bad mobo making his power supply click off? it's ok in windows or browsing the web, it only happens when he games.

edit: it only happens on q3 engine games, as far as he can tell
