what could be causing 'unable to connect' messages when trying to view websites?

I have a wireless card along with a wireless Linksys router.

For some reason when I try to access a website, it times out.

Then when try to access the same website (just seconds later) it loads very quickly.

It shows I have a strong signal.

Do you have any idea what would cause me to need to 'hit' the site twice in order for the site to load?
