WHat could be causing occasional "POPS" from my Z-560's?

I've owned my set of Logitech Z-560's for roughly a month now and have loved every minute of it.

Now, here's a thing ive just noticed lately. Occasionaly, my speakers make a "pop" or "snap" like sound, our of nowhere. I only notice it when there's no music playing, and it usually only happens after the speakers have been idle for a few mins. I don't turn the speakers up loud at all (by most normal users standards) so i dont think stress would be causing it. Could it be a power surge like issue? Maybe surrounding hardware is causing it?

I have a small halogen desk lamp, inkjet printer, and DSL modem all within close proximity of the speakers and the sub.

I'm no audio expert so im turning to you guys.

Do the pop's occur at musical peaks (as in heavy bass hits etc)?

Are you using Windows 98 with a VIA motherboard with either Apollo VP3(VT82C597) or Apollo MVP3(VT82C598) system controller chipset?

Also, do these pops occur when using Winamp? If so, try reinstalling Winamp.

Check the volume control in Windows and make sure that it is not set more than half-way up.
Also, check and make sure your conections are all secure.
