What Core 2 Duo chipsets support AGP?

I'm not a big gamer, so I don't want to upgrade my video card and I'm so out of what's going on in building a performance system... Does anyone know what chipsets support Core 2 Duo and also have AGP slots? Any benchmarking links would be apreciated as well, thanks.

Only the crappy Asrock VSTA.

If you're not a gamer, just wait for GMA3000 based G965 chipset or whatever nvidia/ati has to offer.

Don't buy an Asrock board. Buy a good board, and one of these PCI-E video cards: 6200TC's. Trying to use an Asrock board with AGP has never, ever worked right. They are okay, if you use them with a PCI-E video card, but still aren't very good. You can actually get a good motherboard for the same price, and use a cheap video card. You'll get much better performance, more reliability, and will have spent about $40 more.

There are not other deals like that in computing (much better performance, plus added reliability, for $40). If you're interested, post again, and I'll be happy to provide you with a few hundred links to people who have bought Asrock boards, then were so unhappy, they gladly spent the money again, to get a good board.

How else can someone slap together a Conroe system for only $400 (cnd) and reuse old AGP card and DDR memory. My SuperPi score has dropped from the mid 50s with my 3.4c to 27 seconds currently. Need to install QT7 and see how fast I can encode with this sucker.

I haven't OCed it yet.

As for the power of Conroe, it can encode a 352x256 @ 500kbps h.264 at above real time. My Northwood 3.4 could only encode at 0.1-0.2x.

Preliminary OC - FSB 300. Can't get past it since my DDR400 memory is holding it back. Will shop around for some DDR2 667 or 800.

you wont get past 300 fsb with that board. Enjoy it for what it is.

That board is a stepping stone/launch pad to let you break in for relatively cheap. You'll want to buy DDR2 soon, and once the new motherboards get more reasonable you'll want to get one.

I've owned 3 ASRock boards and all are decent (which is to say spectacular for the money) although I'm lucky to get 1/3 of the overclock out of them that I've managed with the same CPU/RAM in other boards.
My overclocked 3.2GHz Socket 478 Prescott manages a SuperPI of just under 30 seconds and I could build that system (via the miracle that is ebay) for about $400.

For another $200 or so you could probably get that E6400 to drop down to something closer to 20 seconds.

If you are considering any Conroe above an E6300 I would suggest getting something better than that ASRock board.
Plus, AGP cards cost more than the identical PCI-E and 1GB of DDR RAM that will do PC-4800 costs as much as 2GB of DDR2 that will overclock to PC-8000. I hated upgrading but I'm glad I did it.

Oh, the one big review of the ASRock board I read stated that even when fully volt modded the board could only manage an overclock to a FSB of about 300 and it doesn't come with any voltage adjustment options for the CPU, you have to build your own.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'd like to wait it out until a better (if it will happen) AGP board comes out, but just after posting this my computer started acting up. I reflashed the bios & that seemed to fix things...
