My ATT contract will be up in july, and I'll want to re-up and get a new phone. Right now I have an HTC Fuze which I like, and it was a warranty replacement for an HTC Kaiser (ATT tilt)

What cool new phones can I expect to be coming out in that time frame? The nexus one just came out and looks really good, but I'm worried that its too long and wide, despite being thin. I think iphone 4g is expected by then, but I don't really care for them. Also both of those only have touchscreen qwertys, and I prefer slide outs

HTC/samsung/LG/motorola planning anything interesting? I've been traditionally WinMo, but I'd like to try out an android phone

Oh yeah, forgot that bit. I am willing to change carriers. Verizon seems the best in my area, and I hear sprint and t-mobile aren't bad either, but right now I'm open to any carrier

Far as I know info on future sliding phones is pretty limited. Seems to be a greater trend towards screen only phones. In that department you've got the Xperia x10 and HTC Bravo that look promising.

I personally hate touch-only phones. Considering how much more successful the G1 and Droid were than other Android phones, I would think carriers would get the hint....and I don't have any sales numbers, but I believe the Touch Pro2 outsold its keyboardless versions too.

I agree, I would much rather have a phone with a physical keyboard. Looks like my options are getting more limited though. Hopefully the droid 2.0 will be something special. :D

Well, if a phone has a good large touchscreen (3.5"), and good accuracy like the iphones supposedly have, I would consider it, but it's a huge pro to me for a decent full board (not the tiny squished ones like on blackberrys

That LG and the HTC bravo +obsession all look promising, but they wouldn't come out for a few months after my contract expires.... I suppose I could wait a few months assuming the intro price isn't too high (paid $300 + 2yr contract for my tilt, ouch!)

Don't forget the HTC HD2, hopefully in March. Huge 4.3" HD screen will make the virtual keyboard more than usable.

Any reason you don't want to just get the Droid?

There are always rumors of new phones (including many with full keyboard) but it's hard to pin anything down. The Motorola Backflip is almost certainly coming to AT&T soon. Supposedly T-Mobile has a myTouch Slide coming out at some point. There are rumors about Google adding a more business-friendly "Nexus Two" - possibly something like the Motorola Shadow. The latest rumor today is about the slightly wacky Motorola MOTOSPLIT.

Personally, I think there will be tons of Android devices hitting the market in the coming months so whenever you decide to make the switch there will likely be something out there that will fit your needs.

That depends on how they do the keyboard. With the HD2 it looks to me to be a fair bit worse than the 3.7" phones due to the way they designed it. On the virtual keyboard they put a four way d pad on the right side making a virtual "chin" you had to reach over, similar to the complaints about the hardware keyboard on the G1. Personally 3.7" is the sweet spot for me. I Sprint had the Droid available I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

Hmm, I didn't notice a virtual chin in Engadget's review of the HD2. HTC's virtual keyboards are supposed to be on par with iphone keyboards, and that's at the default 3.2"-3.5" screens. I've really liked the keyboard on the myTouch 3g and the Droid Eris. I believe Engadget said the 4.3" screen of the HD2 made the virtual keyboard even easier to use.
