What converts movie files to dvd format?

I got my hands on several movie files, like avi, mpeg2, mov, etc, and want to convert those to a dvd format that I could burn to a bland dvd and then use in a standard dvd player. I realize the quality wont be nearly as good, but I still want to do it. What programs can do something like that?

You'll probably want an encoder (such as TMPGEnc) as well as a DVD authoring program. If you've got some time to play with the software, DVD Lab Pro has a trial version that'll do anything you could ever imagine with constructing a DVD.
