Thank you for such a fast response...

I am attempting to flash the BIOS using the Asus USB Flashback port method, which is how I have always upgraded my BIOS, and also installed a permaSLIC when I first got the board.

I would like to confirm this is the proper method to flash your "no microcode" BIOS? Because what is happening is I get 5 flashes, then a solid blue light which indicates the BIOS flash failed immediately.

I have downloaded & extracted your BIOS twice, in case there was a corruption in sending. The CRC32 I got on your extracted CAP file BIOS is CDBC9ED8 for reference.

Hello guys,

I have been trying to mod Gigabyte X99-UD3 rev 1.0 latest bios (f23c) with UBU_v1.74.0.3 and MMTool Aptio 5.02.0024 (wanted to 'enable' max single core multiplier for my E5 2630v3 to run on all cores, soon I will be getting 12 core e5 v3 Xeon to replace my current one). When i try to flash modded bios either via @Bios or qflash - it says that BIOS file is incorrect. Any hints? :)

Again, thanks for such fast response.

This second file you made is able to flash no problem at all. According to many sources, Asus USB flashback is the only reliable method to flash modified BIOS, so something is definitely wrong with the first one, you should delete it.

So thanks for that. I'm still learning how to work the EUFI shell & install the Xeon turbo driver, so I'll report back later about any speed gains that my system gets when I figure out the rest of the stuff.

@oorileet As far as I know, gigabyte motherboards require different hex editing method for modding. I have no experience with Gigabyte motherboards.
Sorry I can't help you but you can find all the information you need in this topic.

with the -70mv bios i was able to run cinebench 15 with allcore @3400mhz and prime95 @3000mhz.

Cinebench Score for my E5-2696V3 is 2912 Points .

The System seems at the Moment stabil every Thing is working.
I would make some stability test for daily use .

@MOF

Hello, I downloaded "80_50_50.efi" from RC8 or RC9 in this URL.
And use the GenMod tool to convert the FFS into the BIOS.
After updating the BIOS with FPT or AFUWIN, it will freeze in about 5~8 seconds after entering Win10 system.
Https://github.com/freecableguy/v3x4/releases

Is the tool or method I am using wrong?
Use the "v3_705050vcc1.8.ffs" you provided before.
If so, can you provide these versions of FFS?
Thank you :)

Single CPU
-80mv Vcore, -50 Cache, -50 SA, 1.8V VCCin powercut
-90mv Vcore, -50 Cache, -50 SA, 1.8V VCCin powercut

@jordanpchome Only efi drivers written in native assembly language can be inject to bios.
Any versions of v3_705050vcc1.8 or freecableguy's drivers are not native asm drivers. These drivers cannot be injected into the bios image.

I already wrote some native assembly driver for single cpu and vcc support but I'm out of town right now.
I can share these ffs files when I come back.

Or you can extract baked ffs's from my latest bios images. You can find those ffs's with mmtool, should be named as "1***watt" or something like that.

Freezing after desktop shows up seems like C6 bug. Did you disabled C6 from bios menu?

The FFS file I am currently using is provided on page 79 of the article (v3_705050vcc1.8.ffs)
Https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/what-controls-turbo-core-in-xeons.2496647/page-79#post-39188224

In addition, the BIOS is very rudimentary, I can't find a place to close the C6 settings.
The BIOS file can't be opened with AMIBCP either. This is my help in another forum (#48)
https://www.win-raid.com/t3859f16-Error-AMIBCP-language-name-present-exceeds-x-in-lenght-3.html

Thank you again for your willingness to provide help and FFS files.

If i provided this file as a ffs should be ok. (Sorry hard to remember 1 years old post)

You must use same version Amibcp as your bios. Try with Amibcp v5.***

Check C6 settings, should be in same menu screen with cpu ht setup.

Thank you for your reminder, I have used the latest version of Amibcp to edit bios normally.
The original preset value is shown in the picture. Which one do you want to modify? C2?

Also, when can you provide the latest ffs? (80 50 50 1.8v)
Thank you once again

Modded BIOS only have microcode removed to make this turbo mod work. No, it won't unlock any voltage controls and bclk OC options. Huanan motherboard is good quality for its low price. You can run a E5-2686v3 @ 3ghz all core (18c) on this.

My motherboard is Huanan X99-8M, and the CPU is also 2683V3.
Using 70 50 50 1.8v FFS, running Cinebench R20 up to only 2.9Ghz

X99-AD3 -> 4 DIMM DDR3
X99-8M -> 2 DIMM DDR4
