What controller config do you use in Halo?

I'm at 40 in lone wolves and i cannot, for the life of me, break that barrier. i'm beginning to think its because i use boxer...making it nearly impossible for me to get grenade sticks. Or i just suck. its a good possibility.

I hate how you can't customize each button to a specific function

for the record, most pro's on MLG use default

Used to use Legacy - felt the "best". After R6 switched finally over to default...makes more sense logically to have the sticks that way, but had just used Legacy since H1.

Yeah, I don't think I have ever customized the controls in any game.

Although I wouldn't mind having jump and melee buttons on the underside of the controller like someone described in another thread.

I tried boxer then switched to bumper jumper which I think is the best.

I do default but inverted. Maybe I'm just oldschool but I can't play the regular way I'm just used to pressing down to look up.

Oh and my look speed is I think 6 right now but I might up it.

I just use default. I didn't find anything that needed to be altered.

QFT.

Sorry but having to take my finger off the trigger to jump is crap.

😕
you dont have to take your finger off the trigger to jump on default

Maybe he plays with his controller upsidedown?

Haha... I think he means take his finger off the analog stick. I've never had a problem with jumping and turning/moving with the default layout.

Oh yeah, I use non-inverted. Why do you guys use inverted? It makes sense for a flight sim, but not so much for a FPS. I know the answer will be "because it's what I'm used to," but what game(s) made you "used to" pushing down to look up?

no idea why i started, but i always used inverted on PC FPS games, started with doom, and it just carried over to console FPS games

stranges thing is that i invert the Turn Left/right on PC games, WSAD controlls

A turns me right and D turns me left

Default sucks for melee range fighting since you have to take your thumb off the right joystick to hit.

I use Greenthumb.

I use Greenthumb.

Assuming you're in close range and have unloaded a clip on them, if you're even remotely close to them you're not going to miss. I've used the technique for Legacy in H1/H2 and now using Default in H3.

For me, it was because I had played flight sims. When I started play FPSs, it only felt natural.

Oddly, I grew out of that when I took a long break from playing FPSs and am currently using non-inverted.

Pretty much the same reason for me. I'm also dyslexic so that might have something to do with it.
